Where should a battery cabinet be installed?
The battery cabinet must be installed adjacent to the power cabinet. The following diagram shows the equipment layout for a typical new indoor Macrocell site. Notes: The cabinets may be placed with zero clearance to the rear wall. The cabinets may be placed with zero clearance to the side wall, however some clearance is recommended.

How do you mount a battery cabinet?
The battery cabinet is designed to mount on a wall or a standard 23” wide relay rack. Refer to Figure 3 and install the 23” relay rack mounting angles to the battery cabinet. Mounting hardware is provided with the battery cabinet. Torque these connections to 46 in-lbs. Install battery retention strap through openings in rear of cabinet.
What should be installed in a battery room?
Emergency lighting with compatible illumination level shall be installed to operate in the event of loss of mains power supply. Battery room doors shall open outward, away from the room, to the outside of the building, and be fitted with door closers and anti-panic (quick-release, quick-opening) hardware.
What should be inspected for incoming battery room equipment?
Incoming Battery room Equipment shall be visually inspected for damage / defects occurred during transportation and conformance to all applicable requirements. Battery room Equipment shall be new and unused.
What are the requirements for a battery room?
Battery room walls and floor shall be made of concrete construction. Battery rooms shall be provided with enclosed and gasketed (i.e., vapor tight) corrosion resistant lighting fixtures as specified in SAES-P-123. Battery room lighting shall be installed to provide a minimum level of illumination of 30-ft candles (300 lux).
